6 Critical Errors In Web Design: Avoid Them At All Costs!

Web Design

A business site is one of the most important elements of marketing for a company that wants to succeed, that’s why its needed to avoid any critical errors in web design. As statistics show, entrepreneurs also understand this, and more than 90% of them have their representation on the Internet. The same is true for buyers – before they buy a product, they conduct an online survey to get acquainted with offers, prices, reviews, and often make a deal without leaving home. Of course, users have their own requirements for web resources, the main one of which is good navigation and completeness of information provision.

Therefore, instead of making a site at your discretion, and then wondering why it does not lead visitors and do not correct mistakes in it, here are some recommendations that you need to make even at the stage of creating a web resource. So, our list.

1. There is no plan

The most serious errors in web design is to start working on a design without a specific plan. And yet this is very important, because every business is focused on a specific target audience, which means you need to do what’s pleasing to your customers. You should address them visually, knowing what social language they use, what type of social media they prefer, what they are interested in and how old they are. Therefore, before creating a website, study the top 5 business resources of a related subject and draw your conclusions about how your site should look.

2. Intellectual Property Claim

Some entrepreneurs go to extremes and make sites too “smart” with an elite decoration. And if only you do not represent the interests of the abstract artist, forget about the difficulties in the design. Now you will not be surprised by the user. User saw a lot, and it does not come to appreciate visualization, but to use you as a tool for gathering information. The user values their time too much to spend it on viewing images or surfing the site in search of the right one. User drives a search query and expects to quickly get the information they needs.

Therefore, websites that use scripts that load a lot of time for downloading (today the user expects an instant result), sites with complex navigation that involves clicking a few buttons and navigating the pages, or websites filled with keynotes but unfilled with the information that people need, all these resources run the risk of blacklisting users, followed by search engines.

The fact that for some reason your resource received a reward for the best color solution does not have any effect on search engines and search results. And meanwhile, it is your material well-being that depends on them.

3. There is no place for development

Do not leave a gap for the new technology – big errors in web design. Seeing that the last update of the site was several years ago, the user without a twinge of conscience leaves with such a resource. For him, this is an indicator of the lack of care for the visitor and a careless attitude to business. Moreover, often such sites are incompatible with new smartphones, and this is bad, since more than 50% of modern users access the Internet using mobile devices. Therefore, flexibility, prompt response to new realities, a willingness to change – a pledge that the visitor will not only wait for the site to load, but also spend some time on it.

4. Outdated content

Old, boring poorly made content will not bring you success either among live users, or among search engines. If you are not a master of the word, hire a specialist. Illiterate articles without the rational use of keywords, provided with poor quality photos, clumsily rendered – all this will not bring you success.

5. No TOS

“Terms of Service” are there any service conditions on the site? Another errors in web design. Usually this information is submitted somewhere on the last page or in a footer to protect yourself as a seller and tell the prospective buyer about what he has rights and what risks. After all, as soon as your site is promoted to the first places in search results, hundreds of Internet attacks will immediately collapse on it, which you will not be able to monitor 24 hours a day. TOS will save you from possible encroachments on the part of lawyers and protect your rights.

6. Lack of contact information

If the site offers only a window for sending a message as feedback, but other information – physical and legal address, e-mail box, phone numbers, is not posted – you will never get anything, and you will be perceived as an organization that is not trustworthy. People trust their money only to those who have nothing to hide
