Working on the road system and motorway system of the UK is a dangerous job. It’s one of the reasons why many major constructions are undertaken at night. We’re all aware of how poor the road system is at the moment so the pressure on the workers to get roads back to a serviceable condition is particularly stressful and uses a heavy workload. This means that sometimes they even have to work in the daytime. It’s vitally important that we’re able to see them hard at work so what ways do they use to make sure they are visible at all times to us other road users.
Firstly, employers contact Chapter 8 Chevrons www.vehiclechevrons.com/. The high visibility Chevron is one of the best ways to recognize a road safety vehicle. This distinctive interlocking triangular design is one of the most striking that there is and it is easily identifiable by any other road user. When these are combined with fluorescent red and yellow colour schemes it’s not hard to spot these vans as they move along our road system.
For the workers themselves there has been a big move towards providing fluorescent gear. All in one work suit provides perfect protection from the winds and weathers that are thrown at the road construction worker but because they are fluorescent they can also be seen clearly by people using the road. add it to this are the warning signs that are supplied and also the ever present use of cones to designate working areas.
