When you shop for women’s sneakers, what are you looking for? A comfy pair of shoes to wear with casual apparel?  A shoe specifically designed for running, hiking, working out, or training? Puma

The Puma trademark was registered in 1948 and the company has been designing and manufacturing men’s and women’s sneakers for over 70 years. Their commitment to quality and sustainability includes products containing 50 to 90 percent recycled and organic materials. Their sneakers are constructed with hybrid foam midsoles, IMEVA lightweight cushioning, zoned rubber outsoles, and synthetic leather, among other materials. Puma is a German company with most of its products manufactured in Asia, primarily China and Cambodia.

Currently, Puma is the largest sportswear manufacturer in the world. The company invests a huge amount of money sponsoring teams and players of major sports leagues. Empowering over 13000 people, it distributes its products in more than 120 countries around the world.  When shopping for Puma sneakers and its other sportswear, make sure you take a look at its vast product line. With so many choices, you might like one better once you pick one.

Nike

Nike was founded in 1964 and has been producing sneakers for over 55 years. They, too, are committed to quality and sustainability. Nike uses recycled polyester, recycled water bottles, organic cotton, and fly leather (instead of grain leather) which is lighter, more durable, and has a smaller carbon footprint in the manufacture of their sneakers. Their sneakers typically contain Eva foam, polyester, cotton, rubber, synthetic leather and real leather, with much of the content coming from recycled materials. While the Nike Company is based in the U.S., their shoes are manufactured in mostly in China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Nike has to be one of the top sportswear brands in the world with its vast collection of products. This US company boasts of a huge reputation for sponsoring big sports teams and players. You can expect to find exclusive designs of Nike sportswear that will make you stand out and feel nice a comfortable about your attire.

Where They Differ

The primary differences between Puma and Nike sneakers are the prices. Both companies offer a wide variety of athletic shoes for women, but Puma consistently costs less. Prices can vary depending on where the shoes are purchased, sales and discounts. However, on their official website, Nike women’s sneakers range from $45 to $400 while Puma online lists them ranging from $25 to $200. So, clearly, Nike targets customers that are looking for super expensive sneakers that will look chic and stylish. On the other hand, Puma offers great value for money for customers targeting customers who have decent budgets for quality sneakers.

Both Puma and Nike offer sneakers for the following purposes and pricing:

  • Running Shoes:
    • Puma $40 – $140
    • Nike $40 -$188
  • Basketball:
    • Puma $50-$180
    • Nike $55-$400
  • Soccer:
    • Puma $70.00-$200
    • Nike$35-$300
  • Golf:
    • Puma $52-$120
    • Nike $60-$180
  • Casual/lifestyle:
    • Puma $30.00-$180
    • Nike $45-$400
  • Training/Gym:
    • Puma $35-$120
    • Nike $50-$200

Final Analysis

People, especially women, consider a variety of factors when choosing sneakers. Those factors commonly include eco-consciousness, fashion/trendiness, performance, fit/comfort, purpose, and cost (not necessarily in that order). Both Puma and Nike check all the boxes except one: cost. Both brands offer sneakers for a variety of purposes made with eco-friendly materials, but Puma consistently offers their high-quality women’s sneaker at a lower price. Of course, what you pay for your sneakers often depends on where you make your purchase.

Puma brand sneakers are easier on the wallet and offer the same durability and quality as the more expensive Nike brand. Shop online for even better deals and be sure to take advantage of sales, discount codes, and clearance offers.  Whether you’re shopping for a trendy pair of casual kicks or a high-performance pair of training sneakers, both Nike and Puma offer top of the line women’s sneakers to meet your needs.

At the end of the day, it’s all about your personal choice and budget. If you are a sneaker lover, you may already have a favorite brand. Maybe you are someone who loves to collect the sneakers of all the popular brands. If you are fairly new in buying branded sneakers for women, you should spend time checking out huge collections of all the popular and reputable brands before you make your final choices. I hope you enjoyed the read!
