The Different Types of Christmas Tree

James Barnes November 27, 2023 Reviews Leave a Comment

Choosing a Christmas tree is a big part of Christmas. Going out to somewhere like this real Christmas trees Leicester based farm https://welfordchristmastreefarm.co.uk/ with the family to look at all of the trees and choose the ideal one for your home is a Christmas tradition, and something that has been popular for centuries in Europe, where the evergreen plants are brought in to homes to decorate them in the depths of the winter.

There are actually many different types of trees that can be used for Christmas trees – all have different qualities and appearances. Here are some of the most commonly used Christmas trees in the UK…

Nordmann Fir – This is a popular type of tree and is the most commonly used species in the UK for Christmas trees. They retain their needles well, making them a good choice for indoor use and they are also often used in parks across the UK.

Douglas Fir – These trees have a lovely smell, so if you want that really strong Christmas tree scent this is the one to choose. If the trees are not cut, they can live for hundreds, if not up to a thousand years!

Norway Spruce – This is the classic Christmas tree, but in order to keep the needles on the tree it requires good care, so this can put some people off. However, this is still a popular choice in the UK as it looks beautiful.

Austrian Pine – These trees are native to parts of southern and western Europe, including Spain and Italy – in fact, the Romans used to worship the tree thousands of years ago making it one of the first forms of Christmas tree.
