For women over 40, good hair care routines and products are often not enough to maintain their beautiful-looking and healthy hair. It is crucial to pair up their routines and hair products with the right foods, specifically those guaranteed to help make their locks naturally strong, luscious, and shiny.

In this case, it is advisable to stock up on some fruits as they contain high levels of essential nutrients needed by your aging hair. By consuming more fruits, you can enjoy these benefits:

  • Lowers risk of hair fall
  • Provides healthy and strong hair
  • Strengthens your hair follicles
  • Ensures that your blood circulates properly on the scalp
  • Promotes better hair thickness and growth

To experience such benefits, make sure to consume more of the following fruits, especially during the summer season when the heat can put more damage to your hair.

Orange

Orange is one of those fruits that your hair can greatly benefit from during the summer season. Being high in Vitamin C, oranges can prevent a deficiency in this vitamin. Note that Vitamin C deficiency may make your hair more vulnerable to damage and loss.

The vitamin is also necessary for collagen production, which contributes to strengthening your hair. Moreover, oranges have antibacterial and antioxidant properties that can make your hair continue to look its best.

Mango

Another fruit that you should consider eating more this summer so you can improve the health of your aging hair is mango. It is rich in nutrients, especially Vitamin A, which works in moisturizing your hair. It also stimulates healthy hair growth through its high levels of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, folate, and calcium. Mango also contains pectin that nourishes not only your hair but also your scalp.

Avocado

Avocado contains plenty of Vitamin E, which is good for your hair follicles as it can help them perform their functions well. The vitamin can also encourage the growth of healthy and thick hair as it can boost blood circulation.

It helps in regulating the pH and oil levels in your hair, preventing them from becoming out of proportion that may put your hair follicles at risk of getting clogged and stopping hair growth.

Berries

The summer season is also the time for you to increase your intake of blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Containing high amounts of Vitamin C and antioxidants, you have an assurance that the berries will be able to prevent possible hair damage.

Watermelon

Aside from being so hydrating, which makes it a great summer fruit, and its ability to support weight loss since it is low in calories and high in water, watermelon can also benefit your hair. Note that dehydration can contribute to hair loss and thinning, so consider hydrating with the help of watermelon to avoid such hair problems.

Guava

Iron is a major component of guava, which can support better hair health. By making it a part of your daily diet, you can expect a major improvement in the flow of oxygen to your hair follicles. The result is better growth and development of your hair.

Guava can also protect your locks from possible damage and breakage. In addition, they have antifungal properties that can fight scalp issues, including itchiness, dryness, and dandruff.

Yuzu

Yuzu should also form part of your diet this summer. This citrus fruit has twice the amount of Vitamin C in lemon, which makes it truly supportive of your hair. It also contains flavonoids, an anti-aging agent, and Vitamin A.

All these nutrients can work together to keep your hair strong despite aging and ensure that it does not break or get damaged easily. The fact that this citrus fruit contains protein can also boost your hair, especially the strength of each strand.

You can also make your hair directly absorb the nutrients present in yuzu by using products containing it. This product could be present in a high-quality pure revitalizing shampoo, making it effective in boosting the strength of your hair while conditioning your scalp.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate is also one of the most nutritious fruits that can benefit the hair. With its high antioxidant content, you will surely be able to strengthen your hair follicles. Drinking the juice of this fruit regularly is also a big help in preventing hair loss.

It can supply your body with high levels of Vitamin C. This vitamin helps not only in boosting the brightness and texture of your skin but also in encouraging hair growth.

Cherry

Cherry can also restore the life of your hair. Rich in Vitamins B and C, cherries will surely be of help in preventing hair breakage. The fruit can also moisturize your scalp and promote healthy, soft, and lustrous locks.

Conclusion

By eating more of these fruits, you will be able to have an easier time fighting the harsh effects of the hot summer season on your hair. Even if it is not summer, it is still advisable to include healthy fruits in your diet to improve the health of not only your hair but also your entire body. The good thing about these fruits is that they are easy to incorporate into your diet. You can even just use them in your salads and smoothies.
