The Cotswolds is a popular place for visitors and there are many things to see and do in the region. Chedworth Roman Villa – Nestled in the countryside of Yanworth near Cheltenham you’ll find the Roman villa that is one of the largest to have been found in Britain. You can see the beautiful mosaics, as well as the bath houses that were part of the villa.

The Rollright Stones – On the Oxfordshire border you will find the Rollright stones – a fascinating ancient stone circle, consisting of the stone circle itself named the king’s men, the king stone and the whispering knights. Mystery and legend abound here, and the stone circle is believed to be around 4000 years old.

The Corinium Museum – If you want to see the fascinating archaeological treasures of the Cotswolds there is no better place to visit than the Corinium museum. With finds that go back to prehistoric times, you can see a glimpse into how the many different people, from neolithic man to the Romans lived here.

The Oldest Inn in England – If you are after some food and drink as well as something historic, then the Porch House in Stow on the Wold will suit you. The Porch House is reported to be the oldest inn in England and the building is thought to date back to 987 AD. Have a look for the marks in the rooms that are believed to have been made to protect against spells.
