What to Wear on Your Holiday to Queensland

Wear on Your Holiday to Queensland

If you’re planning to book a holiday to Queensland, you already have a lot to think about. But while you might have considered things like hotels and travel, have you given any thought to what you’re going to wear?

Before you head out to the shops to buy holiday clothes, let’s talk about what you should be wearing in Queensland. Here are seven essential pieces of clothing for your suitcase.

  1. Table of Contents

    Toggle
    • T-shirts
    • Jeans
    • Shorts and/or skirts
    • Dresses
    • Jumpers and cardigans
    • Sandals or flip flops
    • Walking shoes

    T-shirts

It might sound obvious, but t-shirts should be a staple of your holiday wardrobe. Queensland enjoys lots of warm, sunny weather, so you’ll want to wear clothes that allow you to make the most of it. T-shirts are a really versatile item of clothing, so you can wear them when sunbathing by the sea or exploring the streets. While the weather will usually allow you to wear short sleeves, you might want to pack a few long-sleeved t-shirts just in case.

  1. Jeans

It’s good to have a pair of jeans on hand for the evenings, when the weather begins to cool down, or for days that aren’t quite as warm. They’re also great if you plan to do a lot of travelling while on holiday – for example, the Spirit of Queensland train is a fantastic way to see more of Queensland. Many people find jeans are comfortable for train travel, and they fit the Spirit of Queensland’s dress code of casual but tidy clothing.

  1. Shorts and/or skirts

Shorts are always a good option for the beach, as they help you to avoid overheating. This is particularly important if you’re not used to Australian weather.

When it comes to skirts, choose clothes made from a lightweight material, as this can be more important than length when it comes to staying cool.

  1. Dresses

As with skirts, it’s advisable to pack dresses that are made from light, breathable material. As you’ll only have so much room in your suitcase, focus on packing sleeveless or short sleeved dresses. If you get cold, you can always put a cardigan or jumper on.

  1. Jumpers and cardigans

These are both great for evenings, when you might need an extra layer, or for when the weather takes an unexpected turn. You’re unlikely to need too many items of warm clothing, but it’s a good idea to have one or two jumpers with you.

  1. Sandals or flip flops

If you’re going to Queensland, you’re probably planning to spend a lot of time on the beach. This means you’ll need to pack the right footwear. Sandals or flipflops are the best choice for walking along the beach, as they’re easy to get on and off. This means they’re perfect if you plan to swim in the sea, and they’re also the best shoes to wear when it’s warm.

  1. Walking shoes

While you’ll definitely need sandals for the beach, a comfortable pair of walking shoes are a must when it comes to exploring Queensland. For some people, being on holiday means seeing as much of your destination as possible, so if this sounds like you, remember to pack your walking shoes!
