6 Natural remedies with ginger for your skin health

Ginger is a well-known spice for its taste and smell. It is used as a condiment for meals or for medicinal purposes. The best known of them is to treat the symptoms of the common cold. But did you know that it is also beneficial for skin health?

Keep your skin hydrated, avoid mistreating it and protect it from ultraviolet rays are some of the basic care we must provide. Ginger has some medicinal uses that will be very good for your skin.

It has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. It contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, phosphorus, oxalic acid, calcium, carotenes, and flavonoids.

In addition, ginger combats premature aging and reduces stress levels. It also increases circulation and eliminates toxins from the skin. For this reason, we recommend you include this spice in your diet or that you never miss out on your pantry.

Remedies with ginger for skin health

1. Exfoliating

Ingredients:

  • 1 ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (30 g)
  • ⅓ cup of coconut oil (67 g)

Preparation:

  • Take a bowl or bowl and grate the ginger root.
  • Add the two tablespoons of brown sugar and finally add the half cup of coconut oil. This oil can also be replaced by almond oil to give a pleasant aroma to the preparation.
  • Mix everything very well until a homogeneous mass is formed.
  • You can apply the preparation once a week, always avoiding contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.

It will help you eliminate dead skin cells and eliminate toxins. This routine is very favorable for your skin health.

2. Ginger for burns

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger (30 g)
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation:

  • Blend the ginger with the water until both ingredients are integrated.
  • Next, apply the mixture with a cotton cloth as a compress on the affected area and you will feel its refreshing effect.

Another option is to take only fresh ginger. Cut it into slices and rub it carefully over the burn.

3. Ginger tea and turmeric for acne

Ingredients:

  • 1 ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (8 g)
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (7.5 g)
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation:

  • Take a pot and boil a cup of water. When it reaches the boiling point, add the ginger root, peeled and chopped into pieces. Add the turmeric powder and stir well.
  • Keep the mixture on low heat for 15 minutes. Put it away and cook it.
  • Finally, add the lemon juice and honey, and mix very well.
  • Drink this tea 3 times a day. It will help eliminate toxins from your bloodstream,  causing acne.

4. Ginger, orange and carrot smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 ginger root
  • 1 orange
  • 3 carrots

Preparation:

  • Peel all ingredients well and liquefy them until no lumps remain.
  • You can refrigerate and drink once a day.

The ginger, orange and carrot smoothie has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It will help you eliminate free radicals from your body and reduce acne.

5. Ginger for skin blemishes

Ingredients:

  • 1 glass of milk (200 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger powder (15 g)

Preparation:

  • In a glass of milk add a spoonful of ginger powder and stir well.
  • Take it daily, at least, once a day. Ginger will help clear up skin blemishes.

Consuming the drink helps to soften the pigmentation of the skin and make it take a more even tone. Remember that the effectiveness of these treatments lies in constant consumption and having patience.

It is not a miraculous treatment, but it will noticeably improve the appearance of your skin.

6. Ginger treatment for dandruff

Ingredients:

  • 1 ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil (15 ml)
  • The juice of 1 lemon

Preparation:

  • Peel the ginger root and chop it into pieces. Grind with a mortar to extract the juice.
  • Place the extracted juice in a bottle and add a tablespoon of sesame oil (it can be replaced by olive oil).
  • Finally, add the lemon juice and shake the mixture well.

Application

  • To apply the treatment, massage the scalp with it and let it act for 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Then rinse the hair with warm water and apply your usual shampoo.

If you use it regularly, you will see that dandruff will disappear.

Ginger has as many uses as benefits, take advantage of it. Add this ingredient to your beauty routine or skin care and you will see that your skin health will improve in a short time.
